Community and Citizen Journalism   Barangay Tuktukan Officials' Survey      To gain a better understanding of the issues in Barangay Tuktukan, we spoke with five barangay officials. Our objective was to gather insights regarding the common problems perceived by barangay officials, including those encountered, resolved, and reported by residents. Santa Maria Local Officials, Answer the Citizens of Barangay Pulong Buhangin about their Blasting Concerns in Modified Mufflers

Who implements the ordinance? How is it implemented? These are the things that have been cleared out on the conducted interview among the local officials of Santa Maria, Bulacan. Photo by: Municipality of Santa Maria, Bulacan On the said interview, we have gathered answers from the Santa Maria Traffic Management Unit and the Santa Maria Municipal Police as referred to by the Barangay itself. They stated that most of the information they have were based on the higher-ups.  We request for a copy of the said Provincial Ordinance to the Santa Maria M.P.S. The ordinance given to the local government states what response should be made when dealing with illegal or loud motorcycle pipes. According to the ordinance, the use of loud pipes on motorcycles are prohibited except on the motorcycle's original parts. Citizens’ Concerns on Railway Relocation in Borneo, Calumpit, Answered by Barangay Officials

Amidst a flurry of interviews on citizens affected by the North-South Commuter Railway in Borneo, Calumpit came concerns from said citizens. From a lack of updates on financial support, to shaky details on relocation, the people of Borneo felt as if they didn’t have a voice to speak their concerns and needed clarification from barangay officials. With these concerns in mind, we decided to visit the Barangay Hall of Pio Cruzcosa where we got the chance to speak with their barangay Captain Jericho Christian “JCL” Lubaton , along with his secretary, Kons Mide Cruz . Upon raising the concerns of the civilians, the question which sparked the most conversation was “where are the citizens going to be relocated?” to which Captain JCL answered by saying that they are to be relocated in Northville.   SOLVENT users, teenage pregnancy, and proper waste management are three of the most prevailing issues circulating Brgy. Bangkal, City of Malolos, Bulacan according to its residents— subject of the initial survey, on Friday, February 2, 2024. To look at the other side of the story, we have conducted another survey subjecting the people seated on their local government: Konsehala Elena Legencio, Brgy. Captain Nammer Bulaong, and SK Chairman Jayson Pascual anticipated our questions that were mainly about the concerns raised by the citizens of their community. All three leading problems were addressed by them as they provided plans upon how are they going to execute solutions to it.  Comprehensive seminars in partnership with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), sex education, multi-purpose buildings, and Alternative Learning System (ALS) for teenage mothers are some of the projects in their barangay, few steps towards materialization.  Here is the transcript of the entir

Our interview with them solidified the opinions of the residents regarding the struggles faced in the community, as the officials confirmed and showed sympathy with the shared experience.
